Halloween is just a few days away! We love Halloween here at Fire Dawgs, and we are super excited to celebrate. Most local communities are keeping traditional Halloween Trick or Treat times this year. However, it’s best to double check your communities websites and resources to see when the official times to trick or treat in your area are. Safety is our number one priority at Fire Dawgs. As a veteran and firefighter founded company, public safety is a passion of ours. Here are a few Halloween Safety Tips to keep you and your little goblins safe this Halloween season!

  1. Adults should always accompany children and carry a flashlight at night while Trick or Treating.
  2. Trick or Treat as early as possible to make best use out of daylight! Trick or Treating in the dark requires a flashlight, as mentioned above.
  3. Motorist need to drive with extra caution and watch diligently for little ghosts and goblins roaming neighborhoods. Please be alert!
  4. Avoid long costumes, as they can become tripping hazards.
  5. Only Trick or Treat in neighborhoods and at homes you are familiar with.
  6. Watch for traffic before crossing any street and make sure you hold children’s hands until they are safely across.
  7. Inspect all candy before allowing children to have it.
  8. Dispose of any candy that is unwrapped.
  9. Wear costumes that say “flame resistant” on the label.
  10. Finally, this one is from the FDA website directly: “In case of a food allergy, check the label to ensure the allergen isn’t present. Tell children not to accept — or eat — anything that isn’t commercially wrapped.”
